4 Quick Steam Facials

I love the feeling of a steam facial, it makes my face feel so fresh and hydrated.  Facial saunas are a wonderful way to bring a healthy glow to anyone's complexion. The warm steam opens pores, washes away impurities, and hydrates the skin. Fresh herbs, teas and essential oils increase the benefits.
I am sharing with you today four quick easy ways to add a little steam to your face.

{ #1 }
Lavender Glow Steam Treatment
Dip a soft washcloth into a basin of warm water mixed with a few drops of lavender essential oil.  Wring out the cloth and hold it to your face for a few seconds, or until cooled.  Repeat each morning for a week to bring back a glowing complexion.

{ #2 }
Aromatherapy Facial Steam
Pour four cups of hot boiling water into a large bowl.  Add two drops of lavender essential oil and let it steep for five minutes.  Then make tent over your head and the bowl with a large towel.  Breathe deeply, and stay under the towel for 10 minutes.  This steamy therapy effectively soothes and refreshes.  I love IT!

{ #3 }
Floral Facial Sauna
Combine four cups of water, and one tablespoon of each of the following dried herbs.  Dried rose petals, chamomile, and lavender buds.  Bring the water and herbs to a boil in a large pot.  Let the herbs steep for about five minutes.  Pour into a bowl and make a tent over the bowl with a towel.  Enjoy the steam and the amazing smell for about 10 minutes.  You will love the feeling, and nourishing effects on your complexion.

{ #4 }
Green Tea Facial Sauna
Make a large cup of hot freshly brewed green tea, pour into a basin or bowl.  Dip a washcloth into the bowl and gently wring it out.  Hold it on your face for a few seconds, or until cooled.  The antioxidants will calm  inflamed skin, evening your skin tone.
Another great advantage of steaming is that it can boost the blood circulation which is essential for the reproduction of healthy and new cells.  After each treatment follow up by rinsing your face with warm water, spray on a toner and apply a facial moisturizer.
I hope that you will get steamy very soon.

DIY Banana Facial

I enjoy a banana as a yummy snack,
but sometime they seem to turn mushy overnight.
I hate to toss them into the trash,
and I can only bake so much banana bread
or blend smoothies.
Here is a awesome facial treatment to make
with those brown spotted dark yellow bananas.
A quick banana wrinkle fighter.
Peel away the years with this easy facial treatment.
Banana is an astringent that induces a tightening or tingling affect on the skin,
which decreases the appearance of wrinkles.
Banana Facial Treatment
First clean your face thoroughly with any natural cleaner or soap.
Mash a ripe banana until very creamy, and spread it all over your face, avoiding your eyes.
Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and then splash cold water on your face.
Gently pat your skin dry.
Thanks for Visiting!

DIY Peachy Keen Face Cream

Nothing says summertime more than Fresh Ripe Juicy Peaches,
and there’s nothing better than enjoying a yummy ripe peach.
I love cutting up a peach, placing it in a bowl and pouring it in a bit of milk for a yummy snack. Peaches are delicious to eat,
but did you know they are also really amazing for your skin.
Peaches contain natural alpha hydroxy acids to gently exfoliate and
clean your skin, as well as Vitamins A and C to strengthen and nourish your skin.
Using this fruit on your skin once a week during the summer
can help keep your skin so smooth and soft.
Trust me you will love the results and feeling.
You can actually just peel a peach and rub it directly on your face,
leave it for about 20 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
For a more clever recipe, here is one of my favorites.
This Peachy Keen Face Cream includes heavy whipping cream
which is awesome for your skin because it moisturizes it
and it is super rich in vitamins.
I hope that you will give it a try, your face will feel nourished after this daily treatment.
DIY Peachy Keen Face Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
2 Ripe Peaches
2 Tablespoons of Heavy Whipping Cream
Directions:
  1. Mash the peaches by hand or puree in a food processor.
  2. Whip the cream slightly in a bowl, then fold into the mashed peach’s.
  3. Once a day, apply the mixture to your face, lightly massaging and rinse with warm water.

Tips:
  • Store in your fridge in an airtight container.
  • Peaches contain anti-inflammatory agents to counteract skin inflammation and improving your skin’s health by combating clogged skin pores, wrinkles, blemishes, sun spots, irritation and firms.
  • Heavy whipping cream is rich in proteins, calcium, lactose, fat, vitamin A, B12, D and zinc, which will smooth and nourish your skin.
hope that you will join me this summer
and put some food on your face daily.

Flower Power

I have fond memories of spending girl time with my Mom and my sweet sister Penny. Steam facials is one affair that we would often take part in which involved hanging our heads over a bowl of steaming hot water. My face would feel so amazing after the water vapors hydrated my face and my heart would feel joyful from silly conversations.
Here is the recipe for a homemade steam facial that you may want to try. Have fun mix it up and experiment with different flowers to come up with your own a version floral facial.
Flower Petal Steam Facial
The power of flowers should not be taken for granted this summer.  All of the flowers are in full bloom and do wonders to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
Ingredients:
4 cups of Distilled Water
1/2 cup of Fresh Flower Petals (lilac, rose, pansy, camellia, or jasmine petals)
Directions:
Bring water to a boil and then remove the pot from the heat, carefully transfer to a large bowl then and add the flower petals, stirring gently. Let the mixture rest for five minutes then lean over the pot, keeping your face about 12 inches off the surface of the water, and drape a towel over your head to trap the steam. Sit for five to ten minutes over the stem then rinse your face with cool water and pat dry.
