Terrarium Garden

I have seen terrarium garden images exploding all over on Pinterest.

Amazing images of pretty, magical, and luscious green

gardens in large glass jars.

After creating a entire board devoted to Terrarium Gardens,

{ find it here....Terrarium Gardens }.

I had to do it.  Yes, all I can say is “Pinterest Made Me DO IT”.

I had to invite my Mom and Daughter to make some terrarium gardens.

Now this is a craft project that I have never attempted before,

and now I find myself looking at glass containers

and jars at yards sales in a whole new way.

First off we placed a layer of rocks in the bottom of our jars, then arranged some moss.  Sprinkled in some charcoal, added a layer of potting soil.

We then planted our plants and succulents, after adding a layer of green sheet moss.

Then arranged the finishing touches by adding gnomes, rocks, bunnies or little pretties.

Beachside

I am feeling so blessed.

I have an amazing family, wonderful friends,

and truly enjoy my work.

I love my job as a soaper and owner of Natural Garden Soaps.

I'm able to use my education and experiences to help others

be healthier and look better.

My work is flexible and creative, and I never get bored.

A few Saturdays ago,

I was set up locally at Sharky’s On The Pier in Venice Florida.

My friend Tricia jewelry designer extraordinaire,

and I set up our tents to create a mini market for beach goers,

patrons enjoying yummy food at Sharky’s.

Carnival Fun

Last week we attended a local outdoor carnival with

all of the traditional fun, it consisted of

games, rides, live music, concession stands filled

with yummy food and smiles.

The rides included the standard fair;

ferris wheel, fun house, bumper cars, swings,

a huge slide, plus loads of carnival games.

It was awesome to walk around watching all of the

big and little people with ooohs, awws and huge smiles.  

It brought back a flood of good memories of attending carnival's as a child or a teenager.

I always had soooo much Fun.

Plus, I am a huge lover of things that spin fast and play loud music.

In the end, the family outing was success.
We all had fun and made so some great memories.

Relax and Unwind

I just returned home to the sunshine state of Florida

from a week’s vacation up north in the deep woods of Wisconsin.

I feel so lucky to have traveled up to spend time with my Dad in his cabin.

I had such a wonderful time.

It was so nice to relax, think of nothing, and visit with Daddy.

Dad and I spent a lot of time sitting by his cozy woodstove

in his cabin talking for hours.

These conversations are the ones I treasure the most . . .

discussing life and whatever is on our minds and in our hearts.

There is something magical and peaceful about my Dad’s log cabin home.

The cabin was built in the 1800’s and sits in a valley surrounded by

twenty five acres of a living enchanting forest.

While taking our yard walks {as Dad calls them}, I snapped a few photos.

During the last few days of my visit it started to snow.

I haven’t seen snow in years so I was super excited, 
I even went outside and shoveled off the steps clearing a path

leading up to the front door.

Since I have been back,

I have been a busy bee shopping and preparing for Christmas.

{ Proud Mommy Alert }

Recently I hosted a birthday party for our oldest

daughter Ashley who turned 26.

Wow, I am not sure how that happened,

it seems like just yesterday we celebrated her 10th birthday.

I feel so blessed to have been given such a wonderful daughter.

When she walks into a room, she instantly lights up everyone's mood.

I believe that it is just one of her most powerful God given talents.

She is always smiling and full of excitement, spreading a contagious joy

that has never left her from being a toddler, child, teenager, adult or mother.

No matter how many toys she had growing up,

she would often throw them to the sides of her room in piles.

She had no interest in buying new things or collecting toys.

She most enjoyed being around people, laughing, playing and just hanging out.

Have you ever met a person, and said to yourself wow that person really loves me?

That is the feeling that Ashley magical extends to everyone she encounters in life.

All of her jobs thus far have been in the service related businesses

such as a waitress or store clerk.

I believe that to be a perfect path for someone who loves people so much.

Happy Birthday Ashley.

I am so proud of you.

You are a wonderful daughter, partner, mother, coworker, and friend.

It is so awesome how you manage to take care of a household, work full time,

attend college, pay your way, you do not have one student loan,

and always maintain a bigger than life heartwarming attitude.

What's Up?

Rolling around in the head is all of the inventory {endless soap bars} to have ready to sell at my upcoming craft shows, which start October 6th.

I feel like the summer has flew past about 90 m.p.h. We have been busy with back to school shopping, clothing and uniforms.

My home based soap and skincare business is growing.  My hubby has been super busy building me a new shop.  Our deadline for completion is September 1st.  I am so excited, a few times a day I enter my new room and just gaze at the wall with a feeling of enjoyment.

I look so forward to my weekly visits by my granddaughter Isabella. When she walks into the door with her infectious smile, I quickly remember how blessed I am with a precious family.

Our family has grown.....from four to five.  For many years our home has included myself, my hubby, our youngest daughter Destiny, and our cat Midnight.  We have 3 adult children (Justin, Ashley, Ashton) who live outside of our home.  Recently, my stepson Ashton moved back home.  He will be with us for a year, to get a job, save money, and regroup for the world.

For the last few weeks I have been cooking dinner from Tiffany’s blog Eat at Home Cooks.  I am beyond words grateful to tiffany for sharing her yummy dinner planning on her blog.  Busy Week?  No Problem.  The menu is all planned, the grocery list done, and the recipes are all gathered together in one place.  I was in desperate need of some inspiration with my home cooking.  Tiffany’s helpful post got me up and running. Ladies you must check out this blog.
That is a few tidbits of whazzup in my life.

{ southern paradise }

We grabbed our beach ball, floats, swimming suits,

and headed out the beach last weekend.

We had the pleasure of hosting our annual summer beach party.

We enjoyed two days filled with friends, family,

swimming, kayaking, yummy food,

and the beautiful Florida landscape

of the ocean and intracoastal waterway.

I moved to Florida in the late 80’s,

and quickly fell in love with the landscape and the beach.

It is a tough job living in such a breathtaking paradise,

but I believe that I do it well.

I must say that I am truly grateful

and feel so blessed to live in a place that I love.
