Is That Egg On Your Face?

I am sharing one of my favorite face mask recipes; Egg White Firming Mask. Once again I am keeping things fresh and natural with no harsh chemicals added. Egg white is great for toning and tightening the skin.

Don’t feel foolish or embarrassed to have an “Egg on your Face” because you will love the results of this mask.

Lookover this list below of nutrients in egg whites that benefit the skin:
  • Protein
Repairs tissue and stimulates new growth. Promotes wrinkle free skin.
  • Magnesium
Slows down the aging process of skin and encourages youthful radiant skin.
  • Potassium
Hydrates, moisturizes and preserves moisture in the skin.

DIY Eye White Facial Mask

Ingredients:
2 Egg Whites
½ Cup of Baking Soda.

Directions:
  1. In a clean mixing bowl, whisk together the egg whites and add your desired amount of baking soda until the mixture is a nice consistency for spreading on your face.
  2. Wash your face with warm water to open up your pores. Apply the mixture onto your face, avoiding sensitive areas around your mouth and eyes.
  3. Kick back and relax for 15 minutes. When this eggy mixture has completely dried on your face, gently scrub it off using warm water in a circular motion. Pat dry with a soft clean towel. Trust me you will be overjoyed with the smooth and clean feeling of your skin.

DIY Shimmering Body Gel

Diamonds, heels, glitter, heck anything that sparkles has my name written all over it. I know that I am not alone in my love for sparkly things. Right Ladies? You are in luck. I am sharing a do it yourself recipe for a Shimmering Body Gel. The fabulous thing about this recipe is that it is made with only two natural ingredients, mica and aloe vera gel.

Most of us know that aloe vera gel is wonderful to treat a sunburn. Did you know that it is an amazing moisturizer? Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel.  Aloe vera is wonderful when use prior to makeup application to prevents skin drying. Aloe vera gel can be used as an shaving gel or aftershave treatment as it contents powerful healing properties.

Do you ask what is mica? Mica is an all natural mineral powder used in mineral makeup. You can find it in many colors. I used pink and white mica. Feel free to experiment with gold, white or other fun glittery tones of color. Mica is commonly available at local stores, online or craft stores.

DIY Shimmering Body Gel
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1 teaspoon Mica Powder
Directions:
Smash the mica into a very fine powder, then simply mix together the aloe vera gel and mica powder. Store in a bottle or jar of your choice with a tight fitting lid.
Application:
Rub the body gel on your arms, legs and body as desired.

I hope that you will give this recipe a try? This is a fun project to make with girls of all ages from two to a hundred.

DIY Coconut Vapor Rub

I was hit hard a few weeks ago with the cold flu bug that went around, here in Florida.  It was the kind of nasty bug where I just laid in bed for an entire day.  I had congestion, a fever, a cough, the chills, a sore throat, the whole whole kit and caboodle.  My home became a hide out for me for about a week.  It was pretty strange being sick because I haven’t been sick for so long.  I stuck to the normal natural remedies.  Cool air humidifier, lots of soft tissues, lots of fluids, eucalyptus essential oil, hot tea and homemade coconut vapor rub.

Today I am sharing my homemade version of the store bought Vicks Vaporub.  I favor my homemade recipe because it doesn’t contain any petroleum or active turpentine.  It has a amazing smell and clears up my sinuses quickly.

DIY Coconut Vapor Rub
Ingredients:
2 Heaping Spoonful Organic Coconut Oil
5 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
2 Drops of Menthol Essential Oil
2 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
3 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
Directions:
1. Mix them together in a small pot and rub into your chest and upper back as desired.
2. Store in a cool dry place, and use as needed.
Stay well and healthy everyone!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Happy Monday!

DIY Seaweed Facial Mask

I love sushi topped off with a slice of yummy ginger.
I often enjoy salmon, snow crab, and avocado wrapped
with seaweed and rice.
Seaweed is great to eat, and it is also wonderful for your skin
because it is packed full of rich vitamins and minerals.
The essential vitamins and antioxidants in seaweed include:
A1, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, E, K, pantothenic acid,
folic acid, ascorbic acid, niacin, and beta-carotene.
This is why I add it to my handmade Mucky Seaweed Soap,
and other skin care recipes.

Seaweed is also known to help repair damaged skin cells,
helps protect the skin from free radical damage,
fight skin inflammation and irritation.
Because of its nutritional properties,
and the 54 trace elements found in seaweed,
this amazing ocean wonder has been said to
help slow down the aging process of the skin.
Seaweed also protects the skin from harsh everyday elements.
The minerals in seaweed help release toxins from the skin,
making it great for detoxifying, or as a natural exfoliant.
I am sure that you would love using rich seaweed on your skin
to rejuvenate, prevent wrinkles, hydrate, and brighten your skin.
I am sharing with you a simple rejuvenating facial mask recipe,
I hope that you will give it a try.

DIY Seaweed Facial Mask
1 Tablespoons of Sea Kelp Powder
2 Tablespoon of Warm Water
1 Tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel
A Few Drops of Honey
5 Drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
Place the seaweed into a small bowl, add warm water and mix.  Add aloe vera gel, honey and stir until well mixed.  Mix in about 5 drops of Rosemary essential oil to cover up the fishy smell.  Feel free to add more water or clay, if needed, to reach your desired consistency.
Apply the seaweed mask to your face, leave on for up to 20 minutes, then rinse off with warm water and soft cloth.  Use this seaweed mask up to twice a month as part of your typical skin care routine.

My face feels SO soft and refreshed after I use this mask.
Beware, that you kind of look like a swamp monster with this mask on your face.
Do you use seaweed in your normal skin care routine?
