Selling At Market

For the past three weekends I have been selling my soaps at craft shows. Selling my handmade soap is one my favorite things about my job. I love meeting new people and connecting with my loyal customers. I enjoy sharing information about my soap with my patrons. I love to strike up a conversation and spark a new relationship.

Over the last five years selling at craft shows I have made invaluable connections with fellow crafters and artisans. These amazing people have offered me valued advice, have always been available to lend a helping hand when needed, and have become my cherished friends. We all check on each other throughout the day and offer moral support. It's so nice to arrive at a show and see friendly faces that are conscious of the craft show world.

The last few weekends I have been setup at Hunsader Farm Pumpkin Fest in Bradenton, Florida. This event is crazy busy and my sales have totally rocked. Everyday is completely unpredictable, which can be both terrifying and exciting, but in its own way makes the whole experience that much more thrilling. Somedays I sell tons of soap bars and other loads of body scrubs. I never know what the day may bring, which to me is super exciting.

Apple Pie, Anyone?

I have been super busy preparing to take part in

“The 2012 Great American Pie Festival”.

Which is taking place on April 28th and 29th 2012

in Celebration, Florida.

It is a fun filled event with a craft show, kids activities, food and contests.

Thousands of pie lovers, tasters and bakers gather together

at The Great American Pie Festival sponsored by Crisco®.

The highlight, as always, will be the Never-Ending Pie Buffet,

featuring award-winning pie, ice cream, toppings

and beverages from many fine sponsors!

I will have my booth setup at this event with handmade soaps,

organic skincare products, handmade towels,

unique dishcloths, washcloths and many more goodies.

There is nothing more american than fresh yummy apple pie.

This is one of my favorite events of the year, packed full of fun.

Now that we are on the subject of fabulous pies,

I would like to introduce you to Andrea with Cake Walk Desserts.

She creates the most yummy pies on a stick, called Pie Pops.

So you, ask me. What are Pie Pops?

{ acres of funky junk }

Last week I spent four days in Fort Mead, Florida at Flywheelers. I setup my booth early Wednesday morning with my hubby’s help to sell our handmade soaps and organic products. My hubby is unbelievably supportive, which was great, since I drag him across Florida without much given notice. I consider myself an adventurous spirit and love taking trips exploring around the state of Florida. Last week’s event was so awesome filled with over 240 acres of crafts, antiques, vintage tractors and flea market items.
Here are a few photos of things that caught my eye, when exploring the acres after acres of funky junk.

Oh, Yea! Believe me it is not hard to find things that you just can’t live without and need to take home. I purchased a vintage suitcase for a dollar, a complete set of four vintage Pyrex bowls, eco friendly fabric sandwich bags, a handcrafted coat rack made of old barn wood and many more vintage trinkets. I love all of my new vintage and handmade goodies.

We had a fantastic week. I returned home with only a few bars of soaps, almost completely sold out of our stock. Which is super, super exciting.

Fall in Florida

I woke up yesterday morning and the temperatures here in Florida had

dropped down to the 60s. Now that is really cold to us Floridians, brrr but I am loving it.

Fall has finally arrived in Florida.  Yippee! Yay!

All of the apples that I pickup for a healthy snacks are just so yummy this time of the year.

We spent last weekend out at Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Fest

in Bradenton, Florida selling our handmade soap.

We are heading back to the farm this weekend to sell more soap.

We are planning to camp out Saturday night on the farm with friends.

The weather could not be more perfect for camping.

I promise that I will share with you photos from our camping adventures.

{ Pirate Fest on John's Pass }

I snapped these photos of the pirates and mermaids from the Pirate Fest this passed weekend on John's Pass. The mermaids costumes were so life like and amazing, wow what a wonderful experience to see them perform. Chad and I were crafters at the event and setup to sell our handmade soap.
