{summer road trip}

This past weekend being a long Holiday weekend with four full days off work and school woo who; all I could think of was a Road Trip.  Summer road trips are a rite of passage for American families; which include long spans of forced family togetherness, battles over who’s encroaching on whose space in the back seat of the car, and don’t forget the endless sound of “Are we there yet?  So over the past Memorial Day Weekend we headed over to the East Coast of Florida (my followers already know).  I know what you’re thinking?  It is not summer yet?  Hey now; close enough don’t you think?  Sure!

We enjoyed swimming in Jupiter inlet at Dubois Park in the lazy river ride which takes you away in a gentle current.  The photos are of our Nephew Ron (coolest nephew ever), our Niece Stephanie, her precious daughter Sissy and our youngest daughter Destiny.

Chad, Destiny and I climbed 105 steps to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse.  The view from the top was EPIC and AMAZING; totally worth the climb to the top.  I had to share this breath taking photo of the banyan tree that sits at the base of the lighthouse.

  4. Your post has me thinking of the road trip my family made from DC to CA when I was about 9. Highlights I remember...us getting pulled over by the cops for speeding within the first day of the trip (boy was Dad mad!). Arguing over seat space with my sister and brother (he was at least 6' by then). Gagging on the smell of our dog's toots! Hahaha! Good times:)

  5. LOVE your photos! ... and love road trips & camping. We took our 'new' RV out for the first trip last weekend just for a 1 night excursion to Port Susan (on Puget Sound). We were lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful beach day and by the time the Pacific Northwest rain came in we were all snug in the RV. :P
