I have been including turmeric in many of my skin care products for many years, like my handmade soaps, scrubs and shea butter lotions. What’s wonderful about turmeric is that it’s conveniently available, and you don’t have to look any further than your kitchen cabinet. I love using what I have on hand.
Skin Benefits of Turmeric:
Skin Benefits of Turmeric:
- It’s loaded with antioxidants, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
- When turmeric is added to skincare products it will give your skin a soft glow.
- Turmeric has been shown to protect the skin from free radical damage which helps to slow down the aging process. Oh-La-La, I want to look younger.
- Turmeric can help to reduce pigmentation on your face and even out your skin tone.
- Turmeric is a wonderful additive for a homemade body scrub, and face mask.
- This wonderful spice is also know to brighten your complexion.
Ingredients:
1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1 Tablespoons Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil or Sunflower Oil.
1/4 Cup of Plain Greek Yogurt
Just a Few Drops of Honey
Directions:
Mix the oil and turmeric together, then add the remaining ingredients. Mix into a creamy paste.
Application:
Apply mask to face and neck. Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water using a soft wet washcloth.
The turmeric does slightly stain skin, clothing, washcloths, or even your face but does washout and fade quickly from skin. I stored my leftover face mask in a small plastic container in my fridge. I hope my hubby doesn't spread it on his sandwich for lunch {hee hee}.
My face always feels amazing after using this mask,
and my face is glowing and super soft.

Thumbs up for this! Mr. COS sprinkles turmeric on all his food. He thinks it helps his memory. Great idea for the skin.

Hello :)
ReplyDeleteIm not a fan of Greek yogurt but I heard that oatmeal is great for toning the face as well. Can I sub? Thanks!
Barbara
Feel free to experiment and use oatmeal as a substitute for the greek yogurt. Another good substitute would be heavy cream which contains lactic acid just like the yogurt. ;o)
